Guide to Creating a Certified FETI® Approved Interview Room

It is possible, even with a limited budget, to take a fairly small space and turn it into a functional and useful interview setting. At Certified FETI, one of the most frequent requests we receive is for assistance with creating an interview room.  Many an interviewer has expressed frustration with their current interviewing environment to us. This document provides suggestions for the most current best practices used by Certified FETI Advanced Practitioners.  Also included are things to avoid, gathered by FETI interviewers after years of working both in law enforcement and civilian environments.

Our recommendations in this document are founded in efforts to decrease anxiety, increase recall and provide as many opportunities as possible for the interview participant to provide information about their experience in a neutral environment.

Not all of the following suggestions will be an option for some organizations. Safety, accessibility and availability of space should always be at the forefront of any decisions regarding your interview room. However, implementing even a couple of the recommendations in this document can result in a positive change for both interviewers and interview participants.
